Caldew School takes its name from the river that runs through the village of Dalston. The school opened in 1959 and has 1000 pupils on its roll. The school has a very large catchment area including the rural community and also serves the southern end of Carlisle.

Our mission is “To enable all pupils to learn to their full potential in a caring and safe environment”.

We are a Business and Enterprise School and we are committed in ensuring every pupil has the opportunity to develop their enterprise skills. Enterprise is about offering young people the vision, skills and know-how they will need to operate in an increasingly complex world.

We welcome the opportunity to show parents and students around the school.
Please telephone (01228) 710044 to arrange a visit.
