Year 7 Catch Up

The Year 7 Catch Up Funding is a government initiative designed to target resources on those students who have not achieved level 4 or above in Reading and/or Maths.

The Department for Education (DfE) provides us with an additional £500 for each student so we can deliver extra support to help these students to ‘catch up’.

Students’ outcomes are good. A significant proportion of students typically attain the highest grades, including at A* to B, at A Level.

The support for pupils with an education, health and care (EHC) plan is matched to their specific requirements. Consequently, these pupils typically make good progress and move on to next steps in education and employment.

Leaders’ plans to support the pastoral transition of pupils from primary school are thorough. Year 7 pupils with whom Inspectors spoke were positive about the school.
